Ukraine Haus
As a result of the war in Ukraine, many employees of our Ukrainian subsidiaries and partner companies are on the run with their families. In a former retirement home, we would like to offer them a home for the first weeks after their arrival in Germany. Here, refugees from Ukraine - mostly mothers with their children and senior citizens - will find a safe place where they can rest and receive comprehensive support for their stay in Germany.
The Building
A former senior citizens' residence in the Tempelhof district of Berlin serves as an accommodation with 125 rooms, that are provided free of charge by the Kuthe Group, a sister company of C. Bechstein Pianoforte AG. The six-story building provides living space for up to 300 people. The first refugee employees and their families moved into the Ukraine Haus building on April 25, 2022. In addition to bedrooms and living rooms with attached bathrooms, the barrier-free house has several rooms that would be suitable as kitchens. On the second floor, there will be workrooms and studies as well as spaces for childcare and playrooms.
Integration
For a good start in Germany we would like to support the residents of Ukraine Haus :
- with bureaucratic matters and visits to authorities
- with translations
- with German courses (German as a foreign language)
- with childcare and school registrations
- with job placements
- with finding permanent housing
Since April 25, 2022, the first refugees have moved into the Ukraine Haus building.
Help us to equip more rooms as soon as possible.
